Biography

Dr. Jeffrey Kohn is a Cardiologist, specializing in non-invasive imaging of cardiovascular disease, and a Cardiac Electrophysiologist. He cares for patients with cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, syncope and palpitations, as well as coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and cholesterol abnormalities. Dr. Kohn is a leader in preventative cardiology and utilizes the most advanced methods to help his patients prevent heart disease and enjoy healthy and fulfilling lives.

Dr. Kohn also has a special interest in sports cardiology and provides comprehensive cardiological care to athletes of all levels, ranging from amateurs to competitive elites. Athletes have unique stressors on their cardiovascular system and Dr. Kohn devises individualized plans to screen for risk appropriately and optimize cardiovascular health, using imaging techniques, prevention and lifestyle counselling. He has been selected as a physician for the New York City Triathlon and has given talks on cardiovascular health for athletes at the highest levels.

Dr. Kohn graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. After training as a Cardiology fellow at Montefiore Medical Center, Dr. Kohn completed an additional fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Thorndike Electrophysiology Institute, under the mentorship of the renowned Dr. Mark Josephson.

Dr. Kohn is board certified in Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine and the non-invasive imaging modalities of Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is a member of its Sports and Exercise Section. Dr. Kohn is also on the faculty of New York University Langone Medical Center and is involved in state of the art cardiovascular research. Recognized by his colleagues for his clinical expertise, he has been noted multiple times as a SuperDoctor in the New York Times Magazine and contributes to the scientific literature in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Kohn treats his patients with care and concern and works with them to develop unique treatment plans that are tailored to their individual needs and lifestyle. When he is not engaged in the practice of medicine, Dr. Kohn enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and playing tennis and chess.
