Biography

Dr. Stanley S. Schrem graduated Cum Laude with a Founder’s Day Award from New York University in 1979. He received his M.D. degree in 1983 at the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. He completed his residency and chief residency training in Internal Medicine at the Health Sciences Center at Brooklyn, S.U.N.Y. Downstate, in 1986 and in 1987. He came to NYU Langone Medical Center in 1987, as a fellow in Cardiology, and completed a non-invasive cardiac fellowship in echocardiography in 1990.

He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiology and has been on the faculty of the Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology at NYU School of Medicine since 1990. He is an active participant in the Division and is involved in the teaching of students, house staff and cardiology fellows. He has an active medical practice and is a founding partner at New York Medical Associates. He has received recognition by the New York Times as a “Super Doctor” recognized by his peers. He is also a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Society of Echocardiography.

Dr. Schrem specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of broad range of both internal medical and cardiovascular disease. He is focused on health maintenance, and disease prevention. He offers annual examinations and disease oriented maintenance programs that are carefully tailored to fit the patient need. He has specific interests in preventive cardiology, lipid management, cardiac consultation, valvular heart disease, and non-invasive cardiac testing.
