Richard M. Hayes MD, FACC, FASNC
Biography
After graduating with a BS in Biology from Vassar College, Dr. Richard Hayes attended New York Medical College in Valhalla, where he graduated with Honors. He pursued his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center. In his third year, he had the honor of being chosen Assistant Chief Resident.
Dr. Hayes pursued his Cardiovascular Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital. During his training he pursued research in atherosclerosis and trained extensively in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.
Dr. Hayes joined New York University Langone Medical Center and New York Downtown Hospital in 1998. He was Director of the Echocardiography Lab as well as the Director of the Coronary Care Unit at New York Downtown Hospital from 2000-2007. He was also Assistant Director of the Nuclear Cardiology Lab at NYU Langone Medical Center from 2005-2007.
Dr. Hayes is ABIM certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He also has comprehensive certification in Echocardiography from the American Society of Echocardiography.
Currently, he is the Director of the Nuclear Cardiology Lab at New York Medical Associates. His areas of interest are non-invasive imaging, general cardiology, prevention and valvular heart disease.
